Meet the Team

Dominic Lewis - Head Coach

Dominic started training in 2006, he quickly developed a real connection with karate, his enthusiasm and knowledge has grown throughout the years.

As Dom progressed through the grades, he gained confidence and he has been teaching sessions since 1st kyu. Dom achieved his 3rd Dan in 2019 and has continued to develop his karate ever since.

Dom began competing in 2012 and it wasn’t long before his potential began to shine. In 2014 he obtained first WUKF European medal in Belgium where he achieved silver. As a competitor he strives to do better every time he walks onto the tatami. Dom’s hard work has paid off when he became WUKF Senior World Champion in 2023 and WUKF Senior European Silver Medalist in 2024 under the coaching of Sensei Steph.

Sensei Dom holds a lot of accolades currently too, he is current British champion and is the current Senior European Champion in Kobudo (speciality Tonfas) Sensei Dom’s experience in fighting is based around grappling.

Stephanie Lovell - Head Coach

Steph began her karate journey in 2011.  She achieved her First Dan in 2016 with Seiichi Fujiwara (8th Dan) and Leo Lipinski(8th Dan) in London at the international JKF seminar. This grading took place over a number days and Steph passed even with some of the harshest critics on her panel.

Sensei Steph began competing in 2018 and in that same year she was selected to compete at the WUKF World Championships in Slovakia 2018.

Steph grew with confidence on the tatami and in 2019, she obtained bronze medal as a Junior at the WUKF European Championships in Denmark. That bronze medal added fuel to Steph’s drive as later in that year, she obtained the title of British GB grand champion.

Sensei Steph’s experience in fighting comes from full contact traditional kumite. As a coach, Steph already has lots of experience as she has been training children and adults since she was a brown belt. Now, with the gained knowledge she understands how to guide athletes to their goals, she has already trained a senior men’s world champion title in kata
